Kasuga Shrine, Nara.
After our visit to the temple, we went to the Kasuga Shrine, the main Shinto shrine of Nara. We didn’t venture too far in, though, because we stumbled upon a Shinto wedding ceremony. The shrine was still open to tourists, but we didn’t want to intrude too much. We watched for a few minutes, and we took a couple of pictures, and we left. I almost feel a little guilty about doing that much, but I’m not sure I’ll ever see another Shinto wedding ceremony in my life.
We walked back toward Nara Station after that, and we got some lunch and headed back to Kyoto. I got back to the hotel and rested a bit, and we all went out to dinner tonight. I’m packing now; tomorrow morning we’ll take a bullet train back to Tokyo, and tomorrow night will be our last in Japan. We fly back Monday morning. I’m not sure how much opportunity I’ll have to post once we leave here, but I’ll definitely post about my homecoming as soon as possible.
